Back to Search AI connectors list Zoho CRM is a customer relationship management platform for managing sales, marketing, and customer support. Search AI can ingest key data from Zoho CRM — Leads, Accounts, Contacts, and Deals — enabling users to search and access this information quickly.

Connector Configuration

Search AI interacts with Zoho CRM via its APIs, which use OAuth 2.0 for authentication. Create an OAuth client in the Zoho API console to generate the required credentials.

Add an OAuth Client in Zoho

  1. Go to the Zoho Developer Console.
  2. Select the client type Server-based Applications.
  3. Set the Authorized Redirect URIs to one of the following based on your region or deployment:
    • JP Region: https://jp-bots-idp.kore.ai/workflows/callback
    • DE Region: https://de-bots-idp.kore.ai/workflows/callback
    • Production: https://idp.kore.com/workflows/callback
  4. Click Create. The client credentials appear in the Client Secret tab.
Search AI uses the following OAuth scopes to access Zoho CRM data:
  • ZohoCRM.org.READ
  • ZohoCRM.apis.READ
  • ZohoCRM.users.READ
  • ZohoCRM.coql.READ
  • ZohoCRM.modules.READ
  • ZohoCRM.modules.entity_scores.READ

Configure the Zoho Connector in Search AI

On the Authorization tab of the connector, provide the following details and click Connect.

Content Ingestion

The Zoho connector ingests Leads, Accounts, Contacts, and Deals from your Zoho account. Each record is ingested as a separate document in Search AI. The doc_source_type field indicates the type of ingested content. The content field for each type includes: Additional metadata for each content type is stored in dedicated fields within the ingested document.

RACL Support

Zoho CRM access control is determined by two factors:
  • Profile — defines a user’s permissions at the module level (e.g., Leads, Deals, Contacts), specifying which actions (view, edit, delete) a user can perform and which modules they can access
  • Role — establishes a user’s position in the organizational hierarchy (e.g., Employee, Manager, CEO)

Default Record Access

For each ingested record, the sys_racl field contains:
  • The creator’s email ID — the creator always has access to their own records
  • Role IDs for all superior roles — Zoho CRM follows a role hierarchy, so all users with roles above the creator’s role can access the record if their profile permits
Example:

Record Sharing

Records can be public or private, with additional sharing configured at three levels. Public Records A public record is accessible to all users whose profile grants access to that module. For example, if a Lead record is shared publicly and the following profiles have access to the Leads module: The sys_racl field would be:
Private Records Private records restrict access to the creator and their superiors by default. Additional sharing can be configured at three levels:
  1. Users — direct access to individual users; the user’s email is added to sys_racl:
  1. Roles — access based on user roles; the module name and role ID are added to sys_racl:
  1. Groups — access based on predefined groups; the module name and group ID are added to sys_racl:
